Terms of Service

Last updated: September 14, 2026

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of the FrameSway — Digital Slideshow applications for Android and iOS (the “App”) and of the website framesway.com (together, the “Service”), published by Maandrik (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

By installing or using the App, or by browsing the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policies for Android and iOS describe what information the App accesses and form part of these Terms.

1. The Service

FrameSway turns a tablet, phone or TV into a digital photo frame. It displays photos and videos that you already own, taken from the sources you connect: the device gallery, a Synology Photos server that you operate, a Microsoft OneDrive account that you own, and any other source we may add in future versions.

The App runs entirely on your device. We do not operate servers that store your photos, your credentials or your account data, and we have no access to the content you display. Connections are made directly between your device and the source you configured.

2. Third-Party Accounts and Services

FrameSway does not require an account of its own. To display photos from a Synology NAS or from OneDrive you sign in with an account that you hold with that provider. You are responsible for those accounts, for keeping their credentials secure and for complying with the provider’s own terms, including:

  • the Microsoft Services Agreement, for Microsoft accounts and OneDrive;
  • the terms of Synology Inc. that apply to your NAS and to Synology Photos;
  • the Google Play Terms of Service or the Apple Media Services Terms, for the store you install the App from;
  • the usage policies of the OpenStreetMap Nominatim and Overpass services, if you enable optional reverse geocoding.

You can revoke the App’s access to a third-party account at any time, in the App (Connections → Disconnect) or in the provider’s own account settings. Features that rely on a third-party service may change or stop working if that provider changes or withdraws its interfaces; we will do our best to adapt, but cannot guarantee continued availability.

3. Licence to Use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the App on devices that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial display of photos and videos.

You may not:

  • copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent or sublicense the App or any part of it;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it;
  • circumvent the Premium upgrade or any technical limitation of the App;
  • use the App to gain unauthorised access to, or to overload, any server or service, including the third-party services listed above;
  • use the App in any way that infringes the rights of others or breaks the law.

4. Your Content

You keep all rights to the photos, videos and other content that you display with FrameSway. You are solely responsible for that content and for having the right to display it on the devices where you use the App.

The App only reads your content. On your explicit request, and only when the source supports it, the App can also rotate a photo (by updating its orientation metadata on the source) or delete a photo from the source. Deletion moves the file to the recycle bin or trash of the source when the provider offers one, from where you can restore it under the provider’s rules. These actions act on your original storage: please check before confirming them. Both can be disabled in the App’s Security settings.

We never see, copy, upload or analyse your content. Anything the App keeps on the device, such as thumbnails or cached files, exists only to display your slideshow and is removed when you disconnect the source or uninstall the App.

5. Premium Upgrade and Payments

The App is free to use. Some features are unlocked by a one-time Premium purchase made through the store of your platform (Google Play on Android; the App Store on iOS, when the iOS App is released). Prices are shown in the store before you buy.

  • Payment, taxes, receipts and refunds are handled by the store operator under its own terms and refund policy. We do not process payments and never receive your payment details.
  • The Premium upgrade is linked to the store account you bought it with and can be restored on other devices signed in to that account, within the store’s rules.
  • Features that are free today may become Premium in future versions, and vice versa. A purchase you have already made will not be taken away.

6. Trademarks and Independence

FrameSway is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Synology Inc., Microsoft Corporation, Google LLC, Apple Inc. or the OpenStreetMap Foundation. Synology and Synology Photos are trademarks of Synology Inc.; Microsoft and OneDrive are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies; Android and Google Play are trademarks of Google LLC; Apple, iOS and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. All other trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.

7. Updates and Changes to the Service

We may release updates that add, change or remove features, and we may stop supporting older devices, operating system versions or third-party integrations. Updates are distributed through the store of your platform. We may suspend or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time; where reasonably possible we will announce significant changes in the release notes of the App.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will work with every device, network, NAS model or cloud account. The correct operation of the App depends on your device, your network and the third-party services you connect, none of which are under our control.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maandrik shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for any loss of data, including photos or videos rotated or deleted at your request, loss of profits or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer, which remain unaffected.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by disconnecting your sources and uninstalling the App. We may terminate or suspend your licence if you breach these Terms. On termination the licence in section 3 ends; sections 4, 6, 8, 9 and 11 continue to apply.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.

Consumers may also have the right to use alternative dispute resolution entities. In Portugal, the list of authorised entities is published by the Direção-Geral do Consumidor at consumidor.gov.pt.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
